It’s the last day of November and only one more month of competition in the Great Horsetrailriders Distance Derby 2012. With just 157 miles separating our leaders, it could still go either way. There is still time for some upset in the Top 10 and its not too late for any of you lingering around the 1,000 mile marker to make it into the virtual Millennium Club. No matter where you land at the end of the year, I hope the Distance Derby encouraged you to get out and ride and that you had fun with GPS technology.
We started with 74 teams on January 1st and by the end of that month, there were 2,800 miles on the board. Today, the end of November, there are still 46 teams competing who have logged 28,000 miles. We have gone around the world and then some.

There's a trophy? You didn't tell me there was a trophy! I would have tried harder!
LOL (I'm currently at 419 and some change...)
Thanks Tammy, this has been a blast! Don't know that I'll be able to get the 41 milies in for December, but it sure does set a goal to hit the 200 mile mark. This has definitely helped motivate me to get out there and ride!!
Well, if you ride 1,485 miles starting now, you still have a chance at that trophy! It's solid gold, you know.....
Like Shari said, Jamie... one mile at a time. And no matter where you end up, you need to look at the year in a whole. Look how much longer you can ride now than you did at the beginning of the year! I am so glad you joined the Derby.
Well, I am still riding lots but it doesn't show up in the arena, and that is my story, lol.
Yeah! I could probably do that! LOL
Absolutely! So happy for you, Jamie.
Ditto, Jamie! You have made wonderful progress, and I think you are healthier for doing this! You have a lot more stamina now!
NICE TROPHY! Yeah for all of us!
Dang I slipped down a spot!!! Guess I better get out there tomorrow and Sunday.
Great job for doing this,it has been fun and unbelieveable that we rode a total of that many miles!!!
Nice job everyone! This sure did encourage me to get out more. I have enjoyed this derby and the commentary this year.
Here I am, proud of my measly 62 miles I've put in since mid-August. LMAO
