Some Work, Some Play

This past weekend we went to Nebraska National Forest near Halsey to install corrals at the horse camp, courtesy of the Nebraska Horse Trails Committee.  I managed to get a little more than 35 miles of riding in while still doing my civic duty.   There is over 70,000 acres to ride; I needed more time and more days.

There were many of us on the work crew and the ride, but the only other Derby Rider was Kathy of Team Zuni.  The Nebraska Horse Trails Committee was her brainchild years ago and it is such a wonderful organization to be a part of.  Thank you, Kathy, for all you do for horse trails and horse trail riders in our state.  And a special thanks to the crew which consisted of my husband and my good friends and to the Buffalo Belles Saddle Club of Kearney area who came out and helped with this project.

If you have been following the posts, you will see that the weather in Alaska has broken and Jenny of Team Alaska has hit the trail again!  We also have first miles submitted by Team Foxtrotter.
