My name is Moira and I live in LaVista, NE. Since I was 10 and given the chance to ride my neighbors horses, they have been in my blood. I have owned several horses since then but my favorite is my 11 year old Missouri Fox Trotter – Pepsi, that I’ve had for the last 4 years. I would recommend a MFT to anyone who wants a smooth ride so much that we got my husband one this past fall. That took a lot of convincing since he grew up a cowboy using quarter horses on some of the big ranches in the Sandhills of Nebraska.
We have trailered all over and my hopes for this year is that we make it to the Ft. Robinson “Ride the Ridge Ride”. The use of your imagination comes to play when trying to fit hubby’s construction work schedule in with all the trail rides and I’m hoping this year will work better for us.. I ordered my GPS a day ago so I’m anxious to get started tracking my miles. And I think this will also be a fun way to make new friends and learn of new places to ride.
Thanks Tami for your work in putting this program together… Should be a fun year for ALL!!!
See you on the trails!!
Moira

Well, since Ride the Ridge ride was cancelled this year, I didn't get to accomplish one of my goals this year. BUT, I did one better. We rode Ft. Robinson Tuesday & Wednesday of this week and we logged in 19 miles.
We started off our vacation this past week moving & sorting over 250 head of cattle as Mark's sister & brother-in-law's cows were mixed up with their neighbors. So we spent Monday dividing out the two herds and moved them back into each owners pasture. We logged in 6 miles. what an exciting way to start off our vacation...
We rode with nieces & nephews the rest of the week and logged in 3 more miles. This was on the family farm and I saw my first Fossil Bed with an actual bone sticking out of the bed. Pretty cool... We were riding out in the Sandhills.. Beautiful scenery and I would recommend Ft. Robinson to anyone.
I posted the week of July 2-6 on the 7th. This entire week we rode 28 miles. Along with this and the June 10th & 11th, I have ridden 44 miles. The leader board does not have my correct count.
I do see the hours here - not sure why they didn't carry over to where I fetch them from. I'll get them added at the next update. Thanks for letting me know.
We rode Lake Cunningham on Sat. 8/11. Took a few scenic detours. logged in 3.6 miles. Sunday we rode West Oak - logged in 6 miles.
Perfect weather for this riding.
How is riding at West Oak. We went once and had a hard time finding the trails. Are they kept up now?
West Oak is a nice ride. We ride the trail as far as we can then we hit the hills and blaze our own trails thru the trees/timber. Its a nice variation and a challenge for the horses. Makes them work a little harder which is good. Sometimes we have to clean the trail off but its usually not bad at all.
We rode Waubonsie and logged in 15.2 miles. WOW - what a beautiful ride.
Rode the trails at the barn 5.5 miles today. Weather is awesome. I can handle this weather anytime. (Waubonsie's ride was yesterday - Saturday...)
Got out and rode last night and put on 4.6 miles. Pepsi was unsure of the white crossing lines in the street so it took a couple of attempts but we made it. Wasn't too enthused about crossing the bridge either and I wasn't going to push so we didn't go. I'll work with him on this.
Rode today. Ground wasn't too soggy from the rain yesterday so logged in 3.4 miles.
We camped out at Waubonsie this weekend. Took the weekend leisurely as hubby and I had a rough week. We logged in 22.8 miles. Also rode last Wednesday,29th and Thursday,30th and logged in 6.2 miles between the two days. Not bad...
Sept. 8th - rode 6.4 miles, Sept. 9th - 6.1 Great weather - cool breeze which helps with the heat.
Sept. 10th - 3.7, Sept. 11th - 3.3
I like this cooler weather. AWESOME!!!!
WOW!! Just got back from the RCR Iowa Trail Ride. What an experience.. Rode Sept. 20 - 7.1 miles, Sept. 21 - 7,6, Sept. 22-10,8, Sept. 23-9.3, Sept. 24-11.7, Sept. 25-24,7, Sept. 26-14.7, Sept. 27-9.6, Sept. 28-3.6, Sept. 29-3.1 miles. What an AWESOME experience. I would recommend this ride to anyone... So relaxing.. Crew and staff are awesome and made everyone feel welcome. They really work hard on making the ride perfect for everyone.
Last week we got out to ride. Rode 6.5 on Saturday and 6.8 on Sunday.. Wish the weather during the week would have been productive riding but no such luck.
Today rode the barn area again and rode 7.1 miles. Looking at riding tomorrow.
Nov. 4th Rode Waubonsie - beautiful day. tracked 8.23 miles
Nov. 10th Rode Waubonsie again - Got in 13.56 miles. Another Great day riding with friends - had to get some miles in since the weather is supposed to turn bad tomorrow - but it held and was AWESOME!!
FYI: Water is shut off at Waubonsie so plan on hauling water for horses if you intend to ride there.
I was able to get some miles in tonight at the barn - 7.0. WOW Lets hope the weather stays this way for a long time.
Weather was awesome to ride yesterday - managed to get in 7.2 miles. Yippee what a day to spend Thanksgiving..
A little cold to ride too far today so got in 3.5, Saturday rode 7.2 and Sunday rode 7.6. Just a little brisk but dressed warm.
Dec. 2 - rode new place with friends today - Pierce Creek - 6.2 miles. Was foggy when we started but soon blew off and turned out to be a nice ride. Not sure how much longer we will have such good weather to ride.
I'm in the derby again this year!!
Didn't get your previous email on signing up - sorry I'm a little late in registering.
