My name is Syndi and I live in Grandview Washington. I own several horses, some that are retired. I ride my horse Cactus Jack Splash most of the time now that he has recovered from a catastrophic injury. I started riding when I was 3 years old, I am 53 now.. My horsemanship is a constant work in progress. I have many teachers to help me besides Jack; Sir Darby, The Mighty Q, and Bohannan's Rhapsody. I am looking forward to many great horse adventures with new and old friends.
Thanks for including Team DOR

January 2nd rode 2.1 miles on my greene Hanna in the arena. The day was sunny and this was our first ride at the ranch. Only the 11th ride in her lifetime. She was a very good girl and I look forward to getting more time on her.
On the 8th I rode 3 miles on Hanna in the arena.
Today, the 14, I rode 1.2 on her. The wind kicked up really bad and she was having a hard time with all of the things blowing around.
Weather has made riding impossible this week-that and I am a big 'cold whimp'
Rode 3.7 miles today. First time Hanna was in an arena with so many other horses. This was her 14th ride and we even loped.
One mile in the arena tonight. We help a recently gelded stud learn to deal with mares while being ridden
Feb 11 rode 9 miles in the arena on The Mighty Q, a horse that had been labled a 'man killer' it was his first ride since entering my care.
Feb 12 rode Hanna 3 miles in the arena
Planning on getting out to do an orienteering ride on Boogie soon
Feb 20 rode 6 miles in the arena on The Mighty Q. It was his third ride and I flagged him while riding him. We even flagged another rider. This horse is turning into a rock star
Rode 10.5 miles in the arena March 3rd. I was blessed to get to ride several of my horses and they all did well, Hanna was in heat and kept making 'ugly donkey' faces at all the other horses.
Nice ride on Hanna today. We did three miles in her pasture, she wore a bosal the entire time...proud of her
April 1st and I would like to say I rode 20 miles, but that would be an April Fools day joke.
Actually I did manage 3 miles in the arena while ponying the grandkids taking 'horsie rides'. It was a lot of fun.
2.5 mile in today, snuck in a little ride while working on the course for tomorrow's trail clinic.
Today Hanna and I did 10.25 miles on the trail course. Hanna has never been on any kind of a trail before and she did wonderfully. We did 1/2 the ride in a bosal.
Happy Easter everyone!
Rode 4.47 miles today on Hanna's first real trail ride. I can not get my Garmin to upload right
Today Hanna and I did 5 miles in the arena. Not to exciting for scenery, but we worked on her rearing issue and played soccer-which she really enjoyed.
I got to ride my coach's horse, Smoke, yesterday. Put in 15 miles and got to gather horses. It was fun being out in the wilds on the big guy.
Headed to Sun Mountain on Friday morning to wrangle rides at my friends stable.
Friday I got in 7 miles. Saturday I rode 17.9. Sunday I logged 22.2. I got in 3.5 before I had to leave this morning.
A grand total of 50.6 for the weekend! I am sooooo happy!
My riding weekend got a bit twisted around with the death of my father...but I did get 3.71 miles in on Saturday and 7.55 on Sunday.
I know that my dad will once again traveling the trails with me when I head out again, something that he has not been able to do for a few years.
Blessed trails to all of you.
So sorry for the loss of your dad but what a nice post. Blessings to you, too.
Our hearts are with you in the loss of your dad. May he travel with you in your memories.
Thank you all for the kind words about the loss of my dad.
My friends who wanted to make sure my first Father's day weekend would not be so sad made sure I rode plenty on Friday and Saturday. I got to ride where my dad and I would ride when I was young. I put on my red hunting hat and dad was able to be on the trail once more. A total of 38.4 miles of tears, smiles, laughter, and the best memories.
Blessings for your trails this coming week.
Yesterday I got to ride both Jack and Hanna. We covered a toatl of six miles in the arena. Jack hates the arena, but he knew my heart needed his compassion and understanding, bless his spotty butt he was a rock star. Hanna was a bit skittery but did not do any of her rearing, even she understood what I needed.
Three horses for a total of six miles in the arena today. We got a bit of rain, some wind and had nice cloud cover. For a boring ride day it was weather.
Hot, hot, and darn hot. But it is that way everywhere. I did manage too get in 3 arena miles today before Boogie infomed me that he would really like a break. I am hoping tomorrow is cooler.
Broken toe has not been too helpful in getting much riding done. I did get 6.2 miles done over this weekend working with my greenies.
I am heading to Sun Mountain to wrangler rides from the back of Lucky and wonderful clysdale...getting my niles on then.
Been up at the mountain since Wednesday, got lots of riding done;
Wednesday- 6.5 miles
Thursday- 12 miles
Friday- 6 miles
Saturday- 10 miles
Sunday- 3.5 miles
Five day total-38 miles
Back from my thrid round at the mountain;
Wednesday- 14.1 miles
Thursday- 10.2 miles
Friday- 3.5
Total of 27.8 miles
had a wonderful time to boot!
Milage is slowing down now that I am off the mountain and back to work.
I did get 3 miles in the arena on Hanna today. We are working on moving forward without throwing a fit. Not one fit was thrown by either Hanna or myself LOL
18.5 miles up at the mountain this weekend. I am so proud that the big green draft I have been working finally made the ranks of guest horse last week.
Been away for a bit. The start up of school has cramped my riding time. Wednesday the 12th I got 5 miles in sorting cows. Today I rode 10 miles enjoying my new Tucker saddle.
So I have set out to ride most days this week so far so good.
Sunday I got 2.5 arena miles, Monday 3 arena miles, Tuesday I did 5 miles in the arena and 2 of those were with no halter or bridle. Last night we got a whopping 8 miles total while team sorting and then trotting inbetween sorting runs. I let Boogie have today off because he has been so good and I am pooped.
Time has seem to be filled with to many things to do and not enough seat in the saddle. I did get in 5 arena miles this past weekend working on my princess fingers with Boogie
Rode Tahkoe the icelandic in the arena. We tolted 10 miles before I could blink...boy she covers ground.
Syndi and I am in the derby
Today Jack and I rode 2.75 miles working with a friend on her quadrail routine. He even carried the flag for a bit
Ysterday I rode Boogie for just a mile...not much distance but it is the first time we have ridden bareback
