Headed towards Corie's house first and than headed south to meet up with Terri, from there we decided to ride a mininum maitnance road and than decided we would head for John and Tammy Musils house! What a great ride with a great group of friends! I will be sore tomorrow but was so worth it today!
Would of ridden longer but John came and found me on the ranger saying he was having a hard time breathing! Ran home as fast as I could and took John to urgent care. Antibiotics and breathing treatments later he is home and doing well.
Decided I would try to go bareback since I was planning on riding just around the home place and small field, Cutter did well until we started trotting and than he got a little frisky and we decided to take it back down to just a nice slow walk. I am so not a bareback rider!
2/13/2012 4.3 miles We did a lot of trotting and some slow loping through the bean field. Really wasn't that cold and even came home to pork chops waiting for me!
Only time for a short ride, didn't even brush Cutter out, just jumped on bareback and walked around the bottom field, practiced a little bit of slow trotting bareback and than practiced opening the gate a little bit. Was a nice short ride and he kept me warm!

Had a wonderful ride on Dionnes awesome gelding Cole! Had a saddle malfunction and my off billet came loose and the saddle and I both feel off. Landed pretty hard on my tail bone and back. I'm a little sore but will be fine. Thanks Dionne for the great ride. That gelding is a keeper!

Met up with a gal that lives close to here that rides and rode the roads, the weather was awesome! A german shephard followed me home so now I have to call the owners to come get thier dog!
Corie rode over to my house and than we rode towards Terri and met up on Mill Road. We decided we would head towards the river and explore some new area's. We did lot's of trotting and had a blast loping some distances! The wind was pretty brutal but it was worth it!
After my 17 mile ride yesterday I didn't think I would get any ride time in today, than John decided we needed to work some new cows that we got so I saddled Cutter up and headed out to the small stocks field to bring the cows in. Afterwards we just guarded the alley way to make sure no one snuck out before they got thier shots. Short ride with a lot of standing around but I'll take it!
Decided to ride to Dionne's house! What a great ride! Dionne was nice enough to trailer us home so that I didn't have to fight the wind coming north. Thanks Dionne! Let's do it again!
Went around the section twice, first time at a good speed, second time at a slow walk. Cutter had a good sweat going, got him home and hosed him down, I think he liked it!
My first ride at home on my new horse, he did amazing and didn't throw one bit of attitude except wanting to turn around once in a while when we were going away from home. I think he is going to fit right in just fine!

Took Red out for his first ride on the roads! Decided we would go around the section, I saw two harly's coming towards us and was prepared for a rodeo and I got nothing.. didn't even raise his head up. Decided to let him open up coming up a hill and our max speed was 13.6 What a slow horse! I think Cutter walks faster than that! LOL!
Rode around on Red and worked on going through the creek and speeding up his walk some. Roads are drying up nice and even some dirt in the fields is starting to dry out.
Took out to ride the section and on our way back got a phone call that one of the boys here sliced his hand open on a piece of metal. Hoofed it back home pretty quickly and doctored him up. No stitches,just a lot of blood.

Rode over to John and Tammy Musils and rode around with John and Chase for a couple miles than headed out with Tammy Dionne Daphne Chase and myself. What a great ride, finished out the ride in the dark. Cutter was his awesome self!
Got home from running errands and decided to get a ride in before the storms moved in. Started misting on us so we decided to head home, should of stayed out longer because all the sudden the sun came out.... than it stormed.

Took Red out into the pen first to work the bulls... he did awesome. After we worked the bulls some we just went and check on the stock cows and found a new baby! Afterwards got Cutter out and decided to do a quick loop around the sections. it's still windy out there!
Woo Hoo!!!!!! I hit the 400 mile mark! Would of ridden longer today but Cappy the goat followed me all the way and was panting like a dog so we cut it short. Stupid goat.
Since track got cancelled I decided to come home and just clean up the house, got a text from a friend saying she was off work early and wanted to ride so I saddeled Cutter up again and we headed out. This time I grabbed my slicker and thank goodness I did because it started raining and we got pretty wet! Had a great time and Cutter was awesome! Had a neighbor dog follow me home so now will take him home.
Met Christine at Indian Caves and rode out. On the first ride I took Red out, he did the hills like a champ! Came back to camp and Troy made a STEAK lunch! Yummy!!! On the second ride out I took Cutter and we made some better time. Thanks for a great time Christine! Also got to meet Heather and order my shirts for the derby!
Took Red out for a trot around the section just so I could hit 450 miles! Probably no riding today because I have track... unless I can sneak out early!
Went to track and watched the boy do long jump, than got to head back home before the running events started. Decided to get Cutter out and do a quick ride. Went around the section and than down to the creek and practiced crossing water. Glad I rode early since it heated up in the afternoon. Rode with Corie over at Waubonsie State Park. What a great ride! Temps were awesome down in the tree's and the bugs were not bad at all. Wish we could of rode longer....
Got Cutter out and we did the section around our house than decided to try out another section. Came across a grumpy dog but he stayed in his yard. Getting pretty warm out there now, glad I got my ride in early!

Rode the Friday AFTER Mothers Day Ride! It got really windy towards the end of the ride and a little warm but what a great ride! I was riding back and fourth to try to get more miles than Juanita and Brenda!
We got the last of the cows moved to the Douglas pasture today. Going to be pretty quiet at home with no momma cows or babies around now for a while. Guess that will give us time to redo the pens and get the lot's spotless! Cutter and Red are happy, tomorrow they get turned out to the pasture!

Hit the 600 miles mark! And on my favorit horse too! Headed out to just go around the section than saw some dirt moving equipment so decided to go east and check that out than came back west and continued around the section. Got stopped by two trucks who just wanted to chat! Super windy out there and when I got home had to go get a drink out of the hose because my throat was so dry!
I rode early too! But not early enough, it was noon before I was done, and had horses rinsed off. Came in for an ice tea and the temps were in the 90's already!
Headed out to Rock Creek with my son Wade. Both horses did awesome! Red never took a wrong step for Wade! I did notice that Rock Creek's trails are very overgrown with lot's of tree's and branches down, we worked today on clearing some of the ones we could with our little nippers.
Took Cutter out early this morning before the heat set in. Trotted quite a bit on the rock roads and he was pretty tender footed since I took his shoes off last week. Might have to put front shoes back on him?? His hoofs were so hard when we pulled his shoes I didn't think he would need them, will try him out some more and see how he does.
Did a quick ride around the section and walked up some of the water ways in the bean field. We got some much needed rain last night and the beans are looking better already. Alfalfa is blooming but it's not very tall, we won't yield as much on the second cutting this year as we did last year.

Wanted to hit the 700 mile mark so headed out with the new dog Sissy with me... she decided we would go along some tree lines and beside some fields and than to the creek, she started chasing something and I had to go after her so turned into a longer ride than what I was exspecting. But I hit the 700 mark!
I have really been not riding much lately, lot's of stuff going on and now football and basketball are in full swing. I'm slowing dropping out of the top 10!
Didn't even make it to the corner and the beagle was following me so had to make it a short ride because the dog will get to hot. Does anyone know why the garmin fit on the iphone 4S keeps shutting itself off? I followed the same tracks I have before and when I checked it it had shut off at .49 miles???? It did that to me at Rock Creek Station also. Is anyone else having problems? I was able to find out how far I went because I traveled the same route I have a hundred times already. Any idea's??
Headed out later than I wanted to. It was already muggy and humid so just stuck close to home. After the ride I gave Cutter a nice cool shower and put him under the fans and Red was down at the pen just looking at me so I went and got him and gave him a cool shower also and put him under the fans... spoiled rotten horses I swear. Might try to get out again later on today to ride once evening rolls around... I'm thinking I need to start riding in the dark...

Got up at 4:30 am and headed for Juanita's to grab her and head for Waubonsie! Best thought of plans..... Got to Juanita's before 6 am and she was ready so we headed towards Waubonsie and got about 3-4 miles East of Glennwood and got a flat tire on the truck... I have roadside assistance but it failed me... one hour wait turned into a 2 hour wait so we decided to call my hubby instead, he showed up with a generator and air compressor and a plug kit and had us back on the road in no time flat! Gotta love husbands! Decided we would just head back to Juanita's and ride instead since it was starting to get warm and didn't want to do the hills in the heat. Had a great ride at her house and met Shelly who is awesome! Saw Juanita's new FANCY horse and met her husband. A crummy morning turned into a great ride wtih a great friend!

10/27/2012 4.12 Miles on Cutter Went and participated in the Haunted Trail Challenge put on by Kelli Paulsen. Had a wonderful time eventhough I froze the whole time! Cutter and I placed first in the novice division so I was pretty shocked when she called my name. I knew Cutter had done a good job but we struggled at the gate a little bit and I actually let go of it at one point (big no no) but maybe she just didn't see that..... it was muddy and cold but well worth the drive up there! This is the second Haunted Trail challange I have participated in, need to get to more of these events. Total = 991.20 I will hopefully hit 1000 this week!
Finially made it to the 1000 mile Club! And on the best horse ever! I decided to ride up and down the road a couple times and than just ended up riding in a big circle around the cows until I knew I had enough distance to cross that 1000 mile mark! Now I can officialy take it easy and not have to worry about hitting any goals! Weather is going to be decent this week so maybe I can skip out of work early a day to get some riding in. I got voted on to the 4H council so that was exciting!
11/8/2012 Met a new friend at work who boards horses near me and we decided to head to Elmwood for a quick ride on the mopac, her horse was not behaving and was not being very friendly to Cutter so we cut the ride short so that she didn't get hurt. Only got 3.86 Miles in..... What a waste of a hauling... but it's okay, I'm glad she didn't get hurt from her horse bucking. Total = 1004.54

I rode a stocky QH named Robo, he reminds me of my Cutter because he is all work and no play.... Nice horse! Total = 1020.78

Got up at 4:30 am and headed for Juanita's to grab her and head for Waubonsie! Best thought of plans.....
Got to Juanita's before 6 am and she was ready so we headed towards Waubonsie and got about 3-4 miles East of Glennwood and got a flat tire on the truck... I have roadside assistance but it failed me... one hour wait turned into a 2 hour wait so we decided to call my hubby instead, he showed up with a generator and air compressor and a plug kit and had us back on the road in no time flat! Gotta love husbands! Decided we would just head back to Juanita's and ride instead since it was starting to get warm and didn't want to do the hills in the heat. Headed out early and had to come back to grab some gloves for my hands because they got chilly! Went all though the fields and up and down the minumum maintance road several times, headed around the section and did an extra loop to see how the neighbors corn was looking. Cutter was well behaved. Feels like fall for sure! I noticed that Cutter is getting a little "fluffy"

Headed out just to check on the cows that we put out on the stalks, what a muddy mess, Cutter was sliding around in the field and the wind was tornadic and it was cold! Saw the cows and turned around and came back in.... We got almost 4 inches of rain just last night. Maybe get a chance to get some more riding in later this week???

Rode with Lori and her husband Terry. Nice ride eventhough the interior trails are closed for hunting.

After i got home from shopping with Jacob i resaddled and did a quicl loop around the section.

Went and participated in the Haunted Trail Challenge put on by Kelli Paulsen. Had a wonderful time eventhough I froze the whole time! Cutter and I placed first in the novice division so I was pretty shocked when she called my name. I knew Cutter had done a good job but we struggled at the gate a little bit and I actually let go of it at one point (big no no) but maybe she just didn't see that..... it was muddy and cold but well worth the drive up there! This is the second Haunted Trail challange I have participated in, need to get to more of these events.
Total = 991.20 I will hopefully hit 1000 this week!

4.22 On Cutter
Finially made it to the 1000 mile Club! And on the best horse ever! I decided to ride up and down the road a couple times and than just ended up riding in a big circle around the cows until I knew I had enough distance to cross that 1000 mile mark! Now I can officialy take it easy and not have to worry about hitting any goals! Weather is going to be decent this week so maybe I can skip out of work early a day to get some riding in. I got voted on to the 4H council so that was exciting!

Met a new friend at work who boards horses near me and we decided to head to Elmwood for a quick ride on the mopac, her horse was not behaving and was not being very friendly to Cutter so we cut the ride short so that she didn't get hurt.
Only got 3.86 Miles in..... What a waste of a hauling... but it's okay, I'm glad she didn't get hurt from her horse bucking.

16.24 Miles on Robo
Went out to some friends house and helped move cattle onto a new stock field. I even got a couple good chases in when some momma's tried to make a break for it! I rode a stocky QH named Robo, he reminds me of my Cutter because he is all work and no play.... Nice horse!
