I’m Brenda Messick. I live north of Lincoln, NE. I rode the hilly trails in PA as a youth, and I love to trail ride. I’ve loved the few week long rides and 4-5 day clinics that I’ve gone to the last few years. I think it's just the time away to regroup and just be with your horse that makes that connection strong again.
I have had 3 kids who showed Western, English, Barrel, Reining and Working Cow, and now that they are done and through college, I’ve gone back to trail riding more. I teach riding lessons, train horses, and raise Quarter Horses. I’ve started the Centered Riding Program almost 3 years ago and am a Level 1 Instructor, working hard to try to get to level 2. I’ve had a few Dressage lessons and would like to continue them in the spring on my Quarter Horses Shaggy and Duke, as well as the Centered Riding Clinics. I’ve been doing CTR’s (Competitive Trail Riding) for 4 years and hope to add some Endurance rides this year. I’m looking for an Arabian to compete with and hope to have him/her soon!!!
I write about my riding, training, grandchildren, and life around here on my blog, Horses Are Our Lives, http://myblog-horsesareourlives.blogspot.com/. I have a Horses Are Our Lives chat group ,http://sports.groups.yahoo.com/group/horsesareourlives/ where I talk about riding and training tips, horse health, books and other current topics. Come join in the discussion!
